ACONITIN-CONTAINING PROTEIN SYNTHESIS INHIBITOR FOR PROTEIN BELONGING TO HEAT-SHOCK PROTEIN 60 FAMILY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicinal preparation which contain aconitine or its stereoisomer, as an active ingredient, has a protein synthesis-inhibiting action on heat-shock protein and can effectively treat autoimmune diseases such as type I diabetes. ;SOLUTION: This medicinal preparation contains aconitine or its stereoisomer as an active ingredient. The aconitine is preferably extracted from tuber of Aconitum carmichaeli. The heat shock protein the synthesis of which can be inhibited by this preparation has a molecular weight of 57-68 kilodalton (abbreviated to protein in HSP family). This preparation can contain aconitine in an amount of 0.001-0.99wt.%, preferably 0.1-0.80wt.%. Thus, this preparation can effectively improve the physiological state of a patient with an autoimmune disease in which a protein in the HSP family participates to its crisis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
