PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly remove the residual rolling oil in an Al foil coil in an annealing furnace by providing a mechanism for reducing hydrocarbon component contained in gas or the air used to the annealing of the Al foil coil with a catalytic oxidation method. SOLUTION: The gas or the air in the furnace is fed to a heating chamber 3 which a circulating fan 1 and after heating, the gas or the air is passed through a catalyst unit 4 heated to the furnace temp. to oxidize and remove the hydrocarbon component contained in the gas or the air. Thereafter, the gas or the air is fed to the annealing chamber 6 and the Al foil coil 5 is annealed and also, the hydrocrbon component vaporized from the rolling oil stuck to the Al foil coil 5 is transferred and carried to the catalyst unit 4 from the heating chamber 3. Since the hydrocarbon component in the gas or the air in the furnace fed into the annealing chamber 6 is decomposed and removed with the catalyst unit 4, the hydrocarbon content is little and therefore, the rolling oil from the Al foil coil 5 is quickly vaporized and the residual rolling oil is removed in a short time.
