PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rat useful for elucidating carcinogenic mechanism, carcinostatic mechanism and physiologically aging mechanism, by raising the rate under administration of a carcinostatic substance, repeatedly carrying out consanguineous cross so as to genetically immobilize a character resistant to the carcinostatic substance. ;SOLUTION: A feed containing a carcinostatic substance 3'-methyl-4- dimethylaminobenzene (3'-MeDAB) (0.06w/w%) in an amount of 200g/day is fed to 14 Donryu rats (four weeks old) as a population for 8 weeks to raise the rats. Rats (150g at 10 weeks old) slower in growth rate than control rats (raised with a feed not containing 3'MeDAB) and rats observed to have tumor formation on livers when 3'-MeDAB is administered for a longer period (preferably 16 to 20 weeks) and their children are removed to give four rats (two male and two female rats) resistant to 3'-MeDAB.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
