PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply measure the amount of a specific protein in a sample and the average number of specific substituents existing in one molecule by using an antibody reagent which reacts specifically with the specific protein. ;SOLUTION: The amount of a carboxymethylated substance existing inside the body of a dialysis amyloidosis (DRA) patient and the average number (carboxymethylation rate) of carboxymethyl groups existing in one molecule are significantly high as compared with those of a healthy person, and the carboxymethylated substance can become a marker for DRA in a crinical inspection region. As long as a reagent which used the antigen-antibody reaction of an anti-carboxymethylation antibody with the carboxymethylated substance and which can detect the carboxymethylated substance is used, its shape is not limited. The anti- carboxymethylation antibody, an antibody to an organism component such as 2M, hemoglobin or the like and the carboxymethylated substance can take a shape is which they are carried by an insoluble carrier properly.
