PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for releasing the distortion of a plastic lens where the distortion is easily eliminated/reduced, a method for mounting the plastic lens free from the distortion, and an optical unit using the plastic lens having no distortion. ;SOLUTION: Lens mount parts 13 disposed at both ends of the plastic lens 10 in a longitudinal direction are supported by the optical unit 50 in a state where pressuring force to a lens main body side is applied to the mount parts 13. As for the lens 10, the distortion inside the lens is decided according to the color of transmitted light through a polarizing disk 20 (20a and 20b), and the external force applied to the lens 10 is adjusted so that the distortion is released. The applied external force acts in a direction where the internal stress of the lens 10 is softened, whereby the internal stress is released and the optical characteristic is adjusted, then the lens 10 is fixed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
