PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chassis dynamometer which can vary a wheel base in a wide range. ;SOLUTION: In a chassis dynamometer, in which a drum 2 for rear wheels and a bevel gear box 6 are moved to adjust a shaft-to-shaft distance between front and rear wheel drums, the bevel gear box 6, a flywheel 4 and a DC motor 8 are directly connected in the order to be placed on a one-piece base 16 and are moved together to perform a wheelbase adjustment. This eliminates the need for a spline shaft traditionally required to make the length thereof the larger, the greater the changing range of the wheel base is thereby getting rid of trouble as caused by the vibration of the spline shaft.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
