PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the frequency assigning problem which occurs when a wire line is backed-up with a radio channel and, at the same time, to secure a transmission line in the shortest time. ;SOLUTION: When a radio call station 1 detects a fault on the transmission line (wire line) 4 between the station 1 and a central control station 2, the station 1 forms a radio channel by originating a call to a portable telephone set 20 on the control station 1 side from its own portable telephone set 14 through a portable telephone system 5 and transmits the positional information and data about the line number of its own station 1 to the control station 2. The control station 2 discriminates the objective radio call station to be connected to the station 1 by making a detour by analyzing the data and switches the transmission line to the station 1 to the radio channel formed by means of the portable telephone sets. The station 1 collates the data obtained by receiving radio waves transmitted from a radio call transmitter 13 with data from the control station 2 from which the received data are generated, recognizes the occurrence of a fault in the wire line when both data do not coincide with each other, and switches the transmission line to the radio channel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
