PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cement hardening retarder compsn. which can prevent the displacement of a decorative material even when an inorg. hardenable compsn. (e.g. concrete) is placed in a process for producing a surface-decorated concrete product and which enables the surface finishing of the decorative material to be performed simply, conveniently, and efficiently. ;SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a water-soluble or water-dispersible acrylic copolymer and a cement hardening retarder. The copolymer has about 5-40wt.% units derived from an unsatd. carboxylic acid or its salt and about 40-90wt.% units derived from an acrylic ester which gives a homopolymer having a glass transition point (Tg) of -100°C to 0°C. The retarder is selected from among phosphoric acid and its salts, boric acid and its slats, a hexafluorosilicate, a phoshonic acid compd., a hydroxycarboxylic acid compd., a keto acid compd., a polyhydric phenol, a ligninsulfonic acid compd., a saccharide, an unsatd. polyester, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
