PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the minute amount of moisture in ketone without using harmful solvent by using the mixed solvent of propylene carbonate and dialkylene glycol monoalkylether as solvent. ;SOLUTION: The electrolyte of Karl Fischer coulometric titration has the main components of amin, sulfur dioxide, ion iodide and solvent. The amin has the acid dissociation constant PKa. As the amin, one kind, which is selected from a 1-3-G (2-pyridyl) propane, 1- and 3-G (4-pyridyl) propane, 2-methyl amino pyridine, 4-dimethyl amino pyridine and imidazole, is used. As the solvent, the mixed solvent, wherein the volume mixing ratio of propylene carbonate and alkylene glycol monoalkylether (here, the alkylene group or alkyl group is the alkylene group or the alikyl group, whose carbon number is 1-4) is in the range of 1:9 to 9:1 is used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
