PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a film formation decay with high accuracy by use of a liquid developing material for obtaining a toner image of high quality. ;SOLUTION: This assembly includes one common light source 206 for emitting light. The emitted light is optically split into two beams B1 and B2, and each is sent to a liquid developing material contained in two translucent conduit tubes 202 and 204. Each type of attenuated light from the beams B1 and B2 is detected with two photo diodes 212 and 214 independent of each other. In this case, the thickness L1 and L1 of the liquid developing material to pass the beams B1 and B2 follows the Beer's law.
