PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform easy and reliable gear shift operation in two positions. ;SOLUTION: An auxiliary gear shift operation device 20r is mountable on a bar body 12 and coupled to a main gear shift operation device 10r, having first and second gear shift levers to operate a derailer in two gear shifting directions through operation from a home position, through respective two operation cables 21a and 21b, and mountable on a bar end 14 separately from the main gear shift operation device 10r. The device comprises an auxiliary operation bracket 60 mountable on the bar end 14; first and second auxiliary gear shift levers 61 and 62; and a torsional coil spring. The auxiliary gear shift levers 61 and 62 are rotatably arranged at the auxiliary bracket 60, and coupled to the two gear shift levers through two operation cables. The torsional coil spring returns the auxiliary gear shift levers 61 and 62 to respective given rotation positions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
