PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device of a bar end type gear shift part of a bicycle, for enabling the hands of respective riders to take an optimal position and enabling a quick gear shift without substantially changing the position of the hand when operating the device.;SOLUTION: The operation device 100 of the bar end type gear shift part of the bicycle includes an installation part 110 adapted to be installed in an end part M of turning forward along the traveling direction of the bicycle of a handle bar, and an operation part 120 installed in the installation part 110 and taking a neutral position to the installation part 110 when a gear shift command is not output.
