PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the life of a metallic dental technic member by introducing a compression stress into the surface layer of the member by mechanical action. SOLUTION: A compression stress is introduced into the surface layer of a member by mechanical action. The compression stress is advantageously introduced into the surface layer by shot peening. The life of a member formed from an ordinary used dental alloy is improved by introducing the compression stress into the surface layer of the member by use of shot peening, and the load fluctuation up to breakage can be improved, for example, by more than 102 . The press-fit part left on the surface of the shot-peened member can be removed without loosing the compression stress in the surface layer by use of a proper means, or left as it is in order to improve the retaining, for example, in case of a tooth root pin.
