PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a leather having far infrared radiation characteristics, antibacterial property, deodorizing property, mildewproofing property and mothproofing property by impregnating a composite ceramic having a specific composition into a leather in greasing process. ;SOLUTION: A composite ceramic produced by mixing 40-60wt.% of magnesia, 20-30wt.% of zinc oxide and 20-30wt.% of quartzite each having particle diameter of 5m is impregnated in a leather during the greasing stage of the leather manufacturing process. The composite ceramic is produced by mixing the above components with a mixer, crushing the mixture with a crusher, again mixing with a mixer and crushing with a crusher, repeating the procedures for 30min and finally baking at 200-500C. The impregnation of the ceramic into the leather is preferably carried out by pouring an emulsified greasing agent and hot water into a greasing apparatus, stirring at 80C to obtain a solution, charging the composite ceramic to the solution, stirring the mixture to obtain a suspension, pouring the suspension into a rotary drum containing the leather and drumming at 50-60C for 50-60min.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
