PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device capable of shortening a prescribed cable safely and quickly by a single worker. ;CONSTITUTION: A clamper 20 is mounted on a main cable 10 placed in a position of suitable height from one end part connecting fixture 11, to suspend a hook for hanging down a chain block 17 to this clamper 20, and by operating this chain block to hoist a car 8, the main cable below the clamper 20 is loosened to perform prescribed shortening.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
