PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear wheel unloading detection device for detecting the unloading of a rear wheel at its early stage and a rear wheel unloading inhibition device utilizing the same. ;SOLUTION: S300 to S304 and S306 to S310 calculate a typical front wheel acceleration GWF and a typical rear wheel acceleration GWR respectively, and S312 obtains a typical wheel acceleration differential ΔGW as the difference between the typical front and rear wheel accelerations. A typical wheel acceleration differential ΔGW not less than a preset typical wheel acceleration differential ΔGWth is found to cause rear wheel unloading and S316 inhibits the increasing slope of pressure on the front wheel, while a typical wheel acceleration differential ΔGW below the preset typical wheel acceleration differential ΔGWth is found not to cause rear wheel unloading and S318 allows the normal increasing slope of pressure on the front wheel. The detection of rear wheel unloading based on the wheel acceleration allows an early-stage detection compared with that based on the wheel slip level to favorably inhibit rear wheel unloading.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
