PURPOSE: To obtain a method for creating a plant body of an umbelliferous herb such as coriander by tissue culture so as to stably produce the plant body in high yield. ;CONSTITUTION: A plant tissue of an umbelliferous herb is bedded on a specific callus induction culture medium containing a phytohormone to induce a callus, which is then transferred to a specific hormone-free culture medium for inducing an adventitious embryo and promoting the growth to form the adventitious embryo. The resultant adventitious embryo is subsequently transferred to (1) a hormone-free specific culture medium for inducing and growing a young plant body, containing (2) an inorganic salt and (3) a carbon source and having strength imparted with (4) a solidifying ingredient such as agar or gelan gum to induce and grow the young plant body. Thereby, the plant body of the umbelliferous herb is created. The adventitious embryo can stably be induced and grown in high yield at a high synchronous ratio and the plant body of the umbelliferous herb can simply be produced at the same time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
