PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep proper auction price and reduce auction time. PSOLUTION: In an auction, acceptance of a bid is started when a bidder inputs a start key of an auction operation device in an auction standby state, and this acceptance is continued until an automatic end time. After the lapse of the automatic end time, or when the bidder inputs an end key of the auction operation device, count-down for closing a bid is started. When the count-down is ended, the acceptance of the bid is ended. After the end of the acceptance, when the decision key of the auction operation device is input by the bidder, and there is no remaining bid merchandise, the successful bid price is decided. When there exists any remaining bid merchandise, the successful bid price is switched to a remaining auction price, and the bid is accepted with the remaining auction price.
