PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objectively and precisely recognize truing time, the quality of truing, dressing time and the quality of dressing without depending on experience. ;SOLUTION: Oscillation of a grinder is detected by an oscillation detection means 8 for every specified frequency which is integral times of rotational frequency of a grinding wheel 3 installed on a spindle 2, and truing time of the grinding wheel 3 and the quality of truing are judged by comparing detected amplitude and a designated data with each other at the time of grinding work. Additionally, the amplitude of oscillation generated on the grinder at the time of the grinding work is detected by the oscillation detection means 8 for every specified frequency which is integral times of natural frequency of the grinder, and dressing time of the grinding wheel 3 and the quality of dressing are judged by comparing detected amplitude and a designated data with each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
