PURPOSE:To timely unload a material to a lower basement so as to make efficient execution possible by successively extending downward a guide rail of a long span elevator to be laid and unloading the material to construct the underground body one after another. CONSTITUTION:The first space for constructing a basement by digging the ground is formed by building two steel-made supporting columns 11 in a predetermined position of the ground where a long span elevator is set up. Next, a screw jack 15 is mounted to a base frame 13 by fixing it below the supporting column 11, and a contraction connecting part 15a1 in a head part of the jack 15 is fitted and supported to an opening in the lower end of a longitudinally supporting pipe 12a. A load-carrying platform 16 of the elevator 10 is supported to a guide rail 12, and the basement is executed by loading an underground constructing material on the load-carrying platform 16 to be unloaded on the first space.
