PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a cut selvage without complicating structure of a running passage by intermittently operating a regulating device, receiving a detecting signal from an edge detecting device and operating an actuator so as to correct displacement, during winding operation. CONSTITUTION:A regulating device 10 corrects the position of a raw fabric roll 2 through operation of an actuator 8 based on a detecting signal from an edge detecting device 9 located in the vicinity of a slitter 4. A control device 11 intermittently works the regulating device 10 so that next correction operation is stopped by the actuator until a beltlike sheet 1 unwound from a raw fabric roll 2 is run to a position near the slitter 4. The control is repeated in succession during winding operation. This operation waits for the correction result of an edge position to perform subsequent correction again. This constitution prevents the control device from being brought into a non-controllable state as a result of hunting occurring to a control system due to a time lag in which the influence of correction operation at a raw fabric roll part is exercised on a slitter part.
