摘要

PURPOSE:To increase binding strength and to freely control the thickness of a carbon layer by using polytetrafluoroethylene as the binder of a cadmium electrode and also using low-molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene as the binder of the carbon layer. CONSTITUTION:Polytetrafluoroethylene is used as the binder of a paste type cadmium electrode. A carbon kneading material containing low-molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene is applied to the surface of the electrode, then the coated carbon layer is bound with the polytetrafluoroethylene. Since low-molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene is used, the kneaded material is not converted into a gummy material even if ethylene glycol is used as the solvent. The thickness of the coated layer is easily controlled and the cadmium electrode having high mechanical strength can be obtained.
