PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fomentation for hot pack capable of prevention of low-temperature burn and capable of effective percutaneous absorption of the drug component by forming a cataplasm layer containing a non-steroidal antiflogistic analgesic on one side of a sheet-shaped heating unit in which a heating material composition containing iron powder as the essential component is enclosed. CONSTITUTION:On one side of a sheet-shaped heating unit in which a heating material composition containing iron powder as the essential component and preferably composed of 40-75wt.% iron powder, 1-40wt.% water absorptive polymer, 1-8.5wt.% chloride and 10-45wt.% water is enclosed, a cataplasm layer containing a non-steroidal antiflogistic analgesic such as indometacin, ketoprofen, flurbiprofen or ibuprofen in an amount of 0.1-15wt.%, preferably 0.5-5wt.% is formed. The sheet-shaped heating unit is produced by enclosing a heating material composition into the inside of a bag body having no opening part the other side of which is made of an air-permeable film and generation of heat is controlled by controlling air-permeability and adjusting the rate of air oxidation of iron powder. The objective fomentation for hot pack is formed so as to control the skin surface temperature to 38-43 deg.C when applied to the human body and maintain the temperature for =2hrs preferably.
