PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for changing mold with which molds in various sizes can be conveyed with each of their centers agreed with the center of a mold-fixing table. ;CONSTITUTION: A pair of mold-setting devices 20 ire provided to a mold conveying truck 16, a pair of auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 are detachably fixed to a pair of auxiliary mold-fixing tables 21 and 22 of the setting device 20 and a mold 6 is inserted between the auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 from above and is detachably fixed to the auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 with clamping devices 30. Then, the paired auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 to which the mold 6 is fixed are conveyed to a space 11 between tables of a horizontal injection molding machine IM. The auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 are fixed to fixing tables 1 and 2 respectively by clamping devices 10. A used mold 6 is conveyed to the setting device 20 as it is fixed to the auxiliary base plates 7 and 8 and after releasing the clamping devices 30, the mold 6 is hung up and is conveyed to the outside.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
