Plant for the automatic manufacture of panel bodies for motor vehicles, each comprising a plurality of component parts 21, 22, 50 joined together to form a box structure which can be fixed to the rear lower plane of any motor vehicle, comprising two lateral sides 13, 14, a top 15, a front wall 16 and a rear wall 17. Plant comprising means 33, 39, 47 for cutting the various component parts 21, 22, 50, means for preliminary joining (see seaming heads 44 and 45) and means for final joining (bolting-riveting machines 54) of the various components assembled together to form a structural frame, and conveyance and assembly lines 23, 24 passing through such means for conveyance of the structural frame before and after joining of the said component parts 21, 22, 50 and for the subsequent discharge thereof and their fitting on motor vehicles.
