The present invention provides an antenna and an inductive coupler having a primary winding, which are formed as part of a single structure that can be easily and consistently produced using a printed wiring board manufacturing technique. The coupler has a primary winding and an antenna formed as part of a printed wiring board. A coupler housing with two interdigitated coupler half members fixes the central magnetic core and the printed wiring board therebetween. The coupler housing fixes a cable coupled between the selected printed circuit layer of the primary winding and the power source to connect the energy to the charge coupler.
