The throttle control rod (2) connects an electrically operated setting motor (1) to an injection pump (3). A damping device for the throttle control rod is provided. This may be a hydraulic damper fitted in parallel with the throttle control rod return spring (4). Alternatively, the damping device may be a friction damper (6, 7), preferably connected to the shaft of a load indicator (5). An electrical damping device is also possible, in which am electric motor is used as a generator. The degree of damping of such a device can be adjusted by resistances.
