A portable electronic device including a housing (1) with a first (2) and a second electrical component (3) arranged in it, an electrically conducting contact spring (4) provided with several spring arms (6) which rest on one side against the first component (2) and on the other side against the second component (3). T. he contact spring (4) is pre-shaped in such a way that it is placed under mechanical pressure by one of the components (2 or 3) when the latter are placed into the housing (1) such that at least two springs arms (6) rest against the first component (2) with mechanical (initial) stress, and at least two further springs arms (6), similarly rest against the second component (3). The first component (2) is a circuit board and the second component (3) a battery or rechargeable storage battery.
