The laser appts. (1) includes a point form search electrode (19), a measuring circuit (31) connected to the electrode (19) and an optical display (8) connected to the measuring circuit (31). The appts. includes a biostimulator or therapy laser unit (15) esp. for laser acupuncture. An outlet aperture (4) is provided in the electrode (19) for the laser unit beam (20). The laser beam (20) is focussed by a short focal length lens (15). The beam (20) is focussed in the plane of the end of the electrode when placed on the patient's skin. No light conductor is used, which would cause energy loss, so that all of the focussed laser energy of the semiconductor laser which only outputs 3 mW power, is made available, unweakened, for laser acupuncture. A switch unit is provided for selecting touch operation or permanent operation. A lock is associated with the hollow part of the electrode (19) to set the device in the operating position for permanent operation.
