ORTHODONTIC APPARATUSES AND MORE PARTICULARLY FIXED APPARATUSES FOR EXPANDING THE MANDIBULAR ARC AND THE MAXILLARY ARC

P The orthodontic appliance includes a mid-arch expansion appliance which is placed between two anterior orthodontic bands (3, 5) in order to carry out the development of the length of the inter-canine arch and of the bilateral assemblies ( 9, 11) consisting of a telescopic rod subjected to the action of a spring and a tube for the molar spacing and the additional development of the length of the arch in the bicuspid mandibular or maxillary zone. In one embodiment of the invention, the mid-arc expansion device is an assembly comprising a setting screw connecting a bilateral palatal plate. Each side of the plate is attached to a canine and a molar with an orthodontic band. In another embodiment of the apparatus, a molded palatal plate is divided into four sections, two anterior sections and two posterior sections. Each anterior section is attached to a canine and each posterior section to a molar with an orthodontic band. The mid-arc expansion device is placed between the two front sections and the two rear sections are fixed to their respective front section by an assembly consisting of a telescopic rod subjected to the action of a spring and a tube. /P
