The tissue extender consists of two hooked bars which are fastened to the edges of the tissue to extended from the inside, and connecting strips (30, 40) above the tissue which draw them together in stages. Each connecting strip has a toothed upper surface (32, 42) which is inserted through a locking element (43) which allows each strip to move in one direction only.
