The present invention provides a prescription diet composition containing a poly-unsaturated fatty acid such as -linolenic acid, . alpha.-linolenic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, and/or biotin, and an antiflatulent such as a lactic acid bacterium, a Bifidbacterium, a butyric acid bacterium or a Bacillus. The prescription diet composition is useful for the prevention and treatment of dog and cat dermatosis.
