PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment which can guide a user to an appropriate course while taking position information and traffic information into account. SOLUTION: A control part 7 retrieves a station at which a user should get off to go to his destination, this information being input from a key input part 3. The control part 7 measures the current position from a GPS wave receiving unit 5 and retrieves the station at which the user should get on the train. The control part 7 retrieves the course of the railroad from the station at which the user should get on the train to the station at which the user should get off, from railroad information stored in a ROM 6. The control part 7 calculates a course by which the total of the time required to go from the place of departure to the station at which the user should get on the train, the time during which the railroad course is used, and the time required to go from the station at which the user should get off to the destination is minimized. The control part 7 displays the optimum course on an LCD 2.
