PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the generation of musical deficiency {deviation of performance (sounding timing of instrumental sound and the like)} to be generated in the process of transmission and reception of musical information. ;SOLUTION: When musical information is transmitted from a transmission- receiving device 104, CPU 101 adds time length data to designate the timing to be formed using a timer 106 for processing to Musical Instrument Digital Interface(MIDI) data which is input via a MIDI input unit 105, stores them once in RAM 103 as data (musical information) for one event, and then transmits in event unit at any time. When the musical information is received by the transmission-receiving device 104, the received data is once stored in the RAM 103, then, the timing to process the added MIDI data is determined from the time length data, and the MIDI data is processed in accordance with the determined timing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
