PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear resolver signal generating method and a linear resolver in which a linear position detection pulse is obtained, in particular, by using a flat scale coil and a detection coil and making use of impedance change of a detection coil. ;SOLUTION: In the linear resolver signal generating method and the linear resolver, detection coils A, B are relatively moved in a noncontact state to a scale coil, and impedance change of the detection coils A, B is taken out as voltage change by bridge circuits 10, 11, and this voltage change is obtained as a linear position detection pulse 7 by a position detection part 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
