PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically specify an event occurrence cause matched with a designated condition by referring to event transmission information stored in a storage means, and specifying the occurrence cause by executing back tracing from the detected event. ;SOLUTION: A specified event detector 27 monitors event occurrence information, triggers the event when the event matched with a designated event generation condition is generated, refers to event transmission information 40 and outputs a pointer to the pertinent event. An event occurrence cause specification device 28 refers to the pointer to the event which the specified event detector 27 detects or a pointer to the event extracted from a user designation event and back-traces the event which the pointer shows in the direction of an event transmission source. When event transmission information 40 of the event of the transmission source is referred to and the pointer to the transmission source is ni1, the event is specified to be the event occurrence cause and an event occurrence signal is outputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
