PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate discrimination of the owner of a portable telephone by making a pattern appear on the liquid crystal part of the portable telephone when it is luminous. ;SOLUTION: A plate 2 made of plastics where a semitransparent pattern is written is interposed between a liquid crystal panel 1 and a light emitting body 3. When the light emitting body 3 lights, the pattern appears on the panel 1. Thus, personality is expressed well, and this is very convenient because of having a difference from other person's one. The plate where the pattern is written may be made of glass, and the pattern is easily replaced if an insertion system of the plate is adopted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
