PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the useless consumption of resources, to facilitate rewriting and to enable repetitive use by using a display element which writes information by either of heat and electric field and allows reversingly writing and erasing of the information to be erased by the other as a recording display medium. ;SOLUTION: This plate for name plates, price tags, etc., is formed by using the display element which writes the information by either of the heat end electric field and allows reversibly the writing and erasing of the information to be erased by the other as the recording display medium 4. The wiring and erasing of the information to and from the display element are reversible. The information is written to the display element by disturbing the orientation state of the liquid crystals of a liquid crystal/high polymer composite film by the effect of the heat and is erased by changing the oriented state of the liquid crystal by the effect of electric field. Then, updating is facilitated and the repetitive use is made possible by using such reversible display element as the recording display medium 4 of the plats 1, such as name plates and the repetitive use is possible.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
