OPTIMIZATION METHOD OF COLOR CHART, CALCULATION AND CORRECTION METHOD OF COLOR REPRODUCING PROPERTY OF IMAGE OUTPUT DEVICE USING THE COLOR CHART

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively calculate color reproducing property of an image output device and with high accuracy as well as to correct fluctuations in the property by newly creating a color chart which matches with the color reproducing property of the image output device through the combination of sampling steps with the highest interpolation accuracy. SOLUTION: This color chart with a specified number of steps each of C, M, Y, K is outputted from a color printer by the number of steps in a step 100. The color chart is measured in a step 110. The number of points Nt to be sampled finally is specified in a step 20. All the combinations in the case of sampling the number of points Nt from all the number of steps of the color chart are calculated for each of C, M, Y, K in a step 130. A method for interpolating the matter which were not sampled is specified in a step 140. A combination with the highest interpolation accuracy is calculated for each of C, M, Y, K from among the combinations of the sampling steps in a step 150.
