PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively store knowledge that a designer recognizes in the process of product design and to suggest design specification by using the stored design knowledge by providing an integrated relation table for holding integrated relation knowledge and a specification deciding table for holding specification deciding knowledge for holding general relation knowledge. ;SOLUTION: A design knowledge base 101 is for holding design knowledge and the integrated relation table holds integrated relation knowledge making information showing an item on a design object correspond to information showing the constitution element of the item. The general relation table holds general relation knowledge 12 making information showing an attribute which the design object has correspond to information showing an attribute value which the attribute can take. The specification deciding table holds specification deciding knowledge making information showing design specification which the design object can take correspond to information showing a request content satisfied when design specification at every examined item is adopted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
