TRANSMISSION METHOD FOR EARTHQUAKE DATA AND SEISMOMETER WITH EARTHQUAKE-DATA TRANSMISSION FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission method in which the loss of data is prevented and in which the transmission delay of an earthquake of high emergency is minimized by a method wherein the rise of an earthquake movement is detected, its rime time is stored and the rise time of the earthquake movement is used to control the delay time when a data transmission is triggered. ;SOLUTION: The rise of an earthquake waveform is detected, and its time T1 is stored. When an earthquake movement having a magnitude exceeding a definite trigger level TL is detected, earthquake data after the time T0 onward going back by a preset time t0 from the rise time T1 of the earthquake waveform is transmitted to a center acquisition device. Therefore, when the level of the earthquake movement exceeds the trigger level TL so as to trigger a data transmission, the rise time of the previously stored earthquake movement is used to control the delay time. As a result, in a large earthquake whose emergency is high in terms of protection against disasters, the earthquake data can be acquired without hardly causing the time delay.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
