PURPOSE:To increase the limit power density of a self temperature controlled heating element which is used for heating equipment and device and to extend its service life. CONSTITUTION:Low-density polyethylene is kneaded and bridged with carbon black and then broken down to form conductive particulates for silane treatment. The conductive particulates are mixed again into the low-density polyethylene and dispersed therein to form a PTC resistor 1a. A metal electrode wire 2a and a metal electrode wire 3a are buried in the string PTC resistor 1a in the longitudinal direction of the string in parallel to the PTC resistor 1a at a certain space, and the PTC resistor 1a containing the metal electrode wires 2a, 3a is coated with an electric insulator 4a to form a PTC heating element. In this way, a self temperature controlled heating element which has a long life at a heating temperature of 62 deg.C can be obtained.
