PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a dry process cement kiln by the rapid fall of the in-kiln temp. caused by a large volume of washing water flowing into a sludge introducing pipe from its pipe end at the time of washing this pipe and the degradation in the quality of cement clinker. ;SOLUTION: When a pipe interior cleaning member 20 arrives at the end on the kiln tail side of the sludge introducing pipe 16, the effect of the back pressure by the washing water is once stooped at the time of cleaning the inside of the sludge introducing pipe 16 by the pipe interior cleaning member 20. The firing temp. of the cement raw material in the dry process kiln 12 is elevated up to the prescribed temp. and thereafter the effect of the back pressure by the washing water is restarted to discharge the washing water from the end of the introducing pipe 16 together with the pipe interior cleaning member 20. The washing water is otherwise returned and only the member 20 is fed into the kiln. Consequently, the damage of the dry process kiln 12 and the quality degradation of the cement clinker caused by the rapid fall of the in-kiln temp. by a large amt. of the washing water discharged from the pipe end at the time of washing the inside of the sludge introducing pipe 16 may be prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
