PURPOSE:To facilitate the handling of a vessel such as a gas cylinder by enabling a sales store or the like, not a user to monitor inventory adjustments or exchange times. CONSTITUTION:In a residual-quantity detector 10, detection is made of a residual quantity of gas in a vessel such as a gas container cylinder. A residual quantity monitoring device 20 makes inquiry of the remainder to the residual-quantity detector 10 via a telecommunication device 30. In response to this inquiry, the residual-quantity detector 10 sends data concerning the remainder quantity to the residual quantity monitoring device 20 via the telecommunication device 30. The residual quantity monitoring device 20 monitors the remainder quantity of gas from the data sent thereto.
