PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet-curing coating composition which is used for a single-core coated optical fiber and gives a cured film excellent in blocking resistance and slipperiness. ;SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by blending an ultraviolet-curing resin composition containing a (meth)acrylate oligomer (A), a reactive diluent (B) having polymerizable double bonds, a photopolymerization initiator (C) with spherical silicone gel particles (D) having a mean particle diameter of 0.1-5 μm and a fluorinated silicone surfactant (E) respectively in amounts of 0.05-5 pts.wt. and 0.01-5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total of components A, B and C. It can be used not only as an outermost coating material for a single- core coated optical fiber but also as a tape-forming material, a secondary coating material and a colored coating material for optical fibers. Further, it can be used as a surface protective coating material for various base materials, without limitation to the use for optical fibers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
