PURPOSE: To efficiently couple many light emitting elements with each other, by arranging nodules so that the nodules can reflect the first part of received emitted light in a first direction along the optical axis from a grating, and can deflect the second part of the emitted light in second direction which are different from the first direction through the grating. CONSTITUTION: An emitted light coupling system is provided with a semiconductor substrate 12 having a wise surface 14 and an optical grating 28 piled up upon the wide surface 14 of the substrate 12, and the grating 28 is arranged in a grid-like state and has a plurality of separated nodules 51, 55, 66, 74, and 76, which are constituted so that the nodules can receive emitted light along the optical axis 58 in a plane parallel to the surface 14. The nodules 51, 55, 66, 74, and 76 are arranged so that the nodules can reflect the first part of the received emitted light in a first direction 72 along the optical axis 58 from the grating 28 and the second part of the emitted light in second directions 70 and 78, which are different from the first direction through the grating 28.
