PURPOSE:To improve the temperature resolution of a two-dimensional array infrared detector by using only one unit cell for reading out signals from a plurality of adjacent photodiodes. CONSTITUTION:A unit cell in a two-dimensional array plane is constituted of a capacitor 2 for storing charges, MCT photodiodes 3, transistor 4 for selecting photodiode, direct injection gate transistor 5, resetting transistor 6, and readout transistor 7. A shift register 10 controls the operation of the transistor 4. An X-shift register 8 controls the gates of the transistors 6 and 7 and a Y-shift register 9 performs the transfer from a row bus 11 to a readout line 12. Namely, signal outputs from a plurality (four) of adjacent photodiodes 3 are successively performed in time division by means of the unit cell 1 only.
