PURPOSE:To discriminate the case of an improper signal and make a practice with evaluation of high skillfulness by deciding the extraction result of a singing signal and stopping processing the singing signal when an accompaniment is much unerased or in case of a stereophonic voice. CONSTITUTION:After the operation of a singing signal extracting means 50 ends, a level decision means 51 compares the amplitude of the output signal of the singing signal extracting means 50 with a certain value and decides that the singing signal extracting means 50 can not cancel the accompaniment sufficiently when the amplitude is continued for more than a certain period of time. Then the decision result of the level deciding means 51 is inputted to a singing signal processing means 13. The singing signal processing means 13 stops operating in dependence on the decision result of the level deciding means 51. For example, when the decision result of the level deciding means 51 is inputted to a comparing means 16 in the singing signal processing means 13, the comparing means 16 stops, the comparing operation and display operation for the comparison result is stopped once the level deciding means 51 decides that the singing signal processing means 50 does not cancel the accompaniment sufficiently.
