In a night vision system (13a, 13b), the light rays from a scene situated in front reach the eye (E) of the observer by a path comprising an objective lens (19) and a first inclined reflector (23 ) which directs the rays on the entrance face of an image intensifier (25). The rays pass intensified by an image rotator (27), a second inclined reflector (29), a relay lens arrangement (31), third and fourth inclined reflector (33 and 35) and an eyepiece (15 ).
