An instrument comprising a burglar alarm circuit (3) connected to a casing (21) having a chuck mechanism (20) which can grip a wire (W) inserted through it, and means (40, 66, and 25) for detecting the variation of a load of an exhibit. When an exhibit suspended by the instrument is removed, the means (40) detects no longer any load, and then, a warning signal is outputted from the burglar alarm circuit (3) to report the abnormality reliably. The burglar alarm circuit (3) also generates alarming sound. The sound is collected by a sound receiver and an alarm signal from the sound receiver is inputted into a centralized controller (13). In this way, the function of the burglar alarming is performed safely without erroneous operation.
